Showdown in Barrie.... Who
will be "King of the Bay" in Formula Senior ? Wickens or
Morad?
or will Juliana Chiovitti take the crown and become "Queen of the Bay" ?
The top kart racing class at Barrie is
Formula Senior. This class features senior drivers in the
fastest karts, with their 40+ plus horsepower and six-speed
transmissions. |
Left: Robert
Wickens; Right: Daniel Morad
This event will certainly be a showdown ! |
Robert Wickens driving a CRG kart, and
Daniel Morad driving a First Kart are close friends off the track,
however, when the helmets go on, the engines start, and the green flag
drops, the story changes.
Both Robbie and Dan are previous champions
in the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Series and this year are
competing for the coveted Formula Senior Championship.
Daniel is leading the championship so far with 205 points with Robert
close behind with 175 points.
However, the "King of the Bay" may come
from one of several other top-notch drivers who will be driving hard to turn
the tables on Wickens and Morad...
Juliana Chiovitti, North America's leading
female driver is in the hunt in third place and can win at any time!

Series teams will bid for a "seat" to pair up with a media partner for
the race. Proceeds from the event go to the Ontario Chapter of the
Canadian Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
|
Entry to the Barrie track is free - come see the action ! |
When you get to Barrie
take the Essa Road or Dunlop Street exit and head for the downtown

The Camerons
-
it's a family business...
The Camerons, Bob and Danielle, operate a
successful karting complex - Cameron Motorsports in Hamilton, Ontario.
The facility offers a full range of leisure and competitive kart racing
as well as a popular paintball attraction.
Customers of Cameron Motorsports have a
wide variety of karting activities to choose from, including a
convenient "arrive and drive" service.
Customers, as the service says... simply "arrive" at the track without
the necessity to provide their own kart or mechanics. They "drive"
the kart provided by Cameron Motorsports, and enjoy the competition, the
comaraderie, and the trophies.
For competitors that want more, The Hamilton Regional Kart Club operates
from the facility and offers kart owners a higher level of training and
competition for Regional and National events including participation in
the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship Series. |
