February 26 - Ron Fellows, Canada's most successful
international racing driver, is joining Toronto
Star Wheels as a columnist.
He will file his first column next Saturday on
the eve of his first racing assignment of the 2005
season, the NASCAR Busch Grand National 200 at the
Autodromo Hermanos Rodrguez, near Mexico City.
Fellows,
winner of three Busch races, two NASCAR Craftsman
truck races, an overall win in the 24 Hours of
Daytona, two straight GTS victories at the 24 Hours
of Le Mans and three consecutive GTS championships
in the American Le Mans Series, will write every
month.
"I've already started the first one,'' Fellows
said this week.
"I'm planning to write about the physical fitness
aspects of professional racing, how to balance
career and family (Ron and his wife Lynda have three
children) and the rigours of race weekends."
Fellows' first appearance in the ALMS sports car
series as a member of GM's Corvette Racing Team will
come March 16 -19 at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
He will also drive two Nextel Cup races at
Infineon Raceway in California and Watkins Glen,
N.Y. for Dale Earnhardt, Inc.
