Hamilton Regional Kart Club !

ASN visited the Cameron Motorsport facility in Hamilton today to meet with the members of the Hamilton Regional Kart Club, and to welcome them into the ASN family of Canadian karting clubs with their affiliation with the Ontario Kart Racing Association
.
Easter Sunday was the Club's first full day at the track with a schedule of technical inspections and on-track driver training.

After the morning technical session, the Club's Senior Officials Jean-Guy Forget and Don Powell held a driver's meeting and ASN officially welcomed all of the drivers on behalf of the OKRA and all Canadian karters..

What a delight to see all of the drivers in their new driver's suits and new karts!

After the meeting, the drivers took to the track in groups to practice pre-gridding, formation laps, race gridding, race starts and yellow and red flag procedures.

Many club members will be competing in the Sunoco Ron Fellows and Ontario KartSport Championships this summer.

On the right are two of the more than sixty new Rotax Max Challenge karts that will take to the Ontario tracks this summer.

Bob Cameron, a founder member of the Ontario KartSport Development Group, is managing the reconstruction of the track.  The track is being lengthened, with new kerbing, verges and protective barriers.

"We got off to a late start because of the constant changes in the weather", says Bob, "We look forward to having our investment in the track upgrades completed in time for our Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship event along with the Ontario KartSport Championship event in July".
