De Heus, Di Leo and Herder enter
round five as new 2004 Canadian Champions
MOSPORT, ONTARIO This weekend, the penultimate round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels will take place at Mosport International Raceway on the Driver Development Course.
For three of the drivers, Uxbridges Aaron de Hues, Marhams Marco Di Leo and Stouffvilles Pearce Herder, they will be racing as newly crowned Canadian Champions as each won their class last weekend at the ASN Canada FIA National Karting Championships at Chilliwack, British Columbia..
Herder, who has already clinched the Canada Junior Heavy class, still has a bit of work left to claim the Rotax Max Jr title as he is 50 points behind Evan Hayden. Eric Barrett is second. Di Leo, who is still undefeated in Rotax Max Senior. competition, has a slight lead over Robert Wickens and Ashley Hiltz. He also leads Canada Senior Light over de Heus and Jennifer Rempel. De Heus has a solid lead in Canada Senior Heavy over Dave Patrick and Jennifer Rempel.
In the headline shifter classes, the Formula Senior battle will go down to the final race probably the final lap like last year. Heading into this weekend, Mike Roth leads Tyler Givogue and Cale Meeks with only 10 points separating the top three. Formula Junior is still all Daniel Morad, and he is looking to seal the championship this weekend. He has a gigantic lead over Michael Vincec and Maxime Pelletier.
The
World Formula Senior
class, Corey Usher leads Jason Carvahlo and Adriano Bilotta, while in
World Formula Junior,
William Keatings has a good lead over Scott Laporte and Matt Jackson.
Canada Junior Light is a tight battle between Keenan Harris and Taylor Holdaway, both of whom are tied for the points lead. Third is JonMichael Ostella.
